Teachers Parade Through the County

April 08, 2020

As the sun shone brightly on the county Friday, April 3, a long caravan of Ralls County teachers paraded through each town. Signs held out windows and taped on the sides of their vehicles shouted out “We Miss You!” and similar slogans. Kids waved their own signs as they hung out car windows and called out to their teachers.
It wasn’t the classroom camaraderie, but it was a needed boost to everyone’s morale. At present, school is suspended through April 30. No one knows if it will resume for the last two weeks of classes. What is known is the deep affection between teacher and student that far surpasses online lessons.
