Carlita Turner Epperson

Carlita Turner Epperson, 85, of New London, Missouri passed away at 1:20 PM Tuesday, April 28, 2020, at Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal, MO.

A Memorial service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements for cremation are under the direction of the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, Missouri.

Carlita was born on February 12th, 1935 in Hannibal, Missouri, and she very happily left to meet her Lord and Savior on April 28th, 2020.

She married Ohrie Epperson, the love of her life, on January 31st, 1951. They met when they were 15 and 16 at the skating rink in Hannibal, and never parted. They were married 65 years.

They had 3 children, Brenda (Gary) Grubb of New London, Jeffrey (Katie) of Center, Shelley (Denny) Brown of Baton Rouge, LA. She loved her 6 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandsons.

She farmed alongside Ohrie, raised many breeds of dogs, ran the family seed business and was the face of Mawmaw Carli's Fine Fudge. She was an excellent cook, a loving Mother, and friend to many.

She was proceeded in death by her husband Ohrie, her parents Cecil and Estelle Tate Turner, 2 sisters Lois Nelson and Delphine Deorle, many inlaws and a Great Grandson, Izeah Williams.

Carlita enjoyed cooking, writing poetry and listening to music, from Swaggart to Haggard and Gershwin.

She was a Born Again Christian and loved her God and her church family as well at Salt River Christian Church.
