UNITED WAY COVID-19 FUND RECEIVES ADDITIONAL $50,000 FROM MISSOURI FOUNDATION FOR HEALTH

Hannibal, Mo. – In March, United Way of the Mark Twain Area received a $50,000
investment from the Missouri Foundation for Health for the United Way’s COVID-19
Response Fund. Last week the organization learned the Missouri Foundation for Health
would be sending an additional $50,000 to United Way’s COVID-19 Response Fund.
Through the COVID-19 Response Fund, United Way has given out over $30,000 to area
non-profit organizations, created senior care bags for 300 local senior citizens, distributed
8,600 pounds of pork to area food pantries and senior centers, and more.
Additional funding from the Missouri Foundation for Health will allow the organization to
supply local non-profit organizations with PPE, hand sanitizer, and additional funds so
they can continue their great work.
Local non-profit organizations serving Lewis, Marion, Monroe, Ralls, and Shelby Counties
that are seeing an increase in the demand for their services, have had to change their
programs, and/or create new programs in response to COVID-19 are invited to apply for
funding from the United Way’s COVID-19 Response Fund. The application for funding can
be found here: https://unitedwaymta.org/special-initiatives
Individuals are encouraged to make contributions to the COVID-19 Response Fund by
mailing payments to United Way of the Mark Twain Area at PO Box 81 Hannibal, MO or
