Local Coverage from Editor

July 24, 2023

Monroe-Ralls covers multiple school districts (Paris, Madison, Holliday, Middle Grove, Monroe City, and Mark Twain) and often they hold events at the same time. Robin Gregg who is the local person cannot be at multiple sporting/school events.

We have coverage for Mark Twain and Paris. Thanks to Becca Evans and Chris Willingham! We need someone from Madison and Monroe City.

There won't be any coverage if she doesn't have help! School districts/teachers/activity advisors need to email submissions so they can be used in the paper. If you choose to be a stringer reporter, you would be paid per event which would need to include an article and photo(s). Stringer reporters can be high schoolers who are looking to make some extra gas money, parents who attend, or even part timers that are looking for some extra spending cash!

There won’t be any coverage if we do not have advertisers to support the coverage. We are doing 1x1 weekly ads this year unless you request larger ones. There is no reason why a business should not be supporting the kids’ accomplishments in the newspaper!

Robin’s goal this year is to have great content with great advertising! Let’s help bring the newspaper back to where it can be and how it used to be. COVID slowed things down, we are back at it in full swing. Just look at our Facebook page LIVE feeds and photo galleries as well as the newspaper itself!!!

Also please note, the Paris office is now open on Wednesdays only, which allows Robin to be out in the community.
