My name is Dennis McMillen. I am currently serving as mayor of Center and seeking reelection.
I first came to Center as an employee at Center Locker in 1970. I then served two years in the US Army and returned to work for Buddy and Shirley Knight. In 1976 I moved to Center with my family and in 1979 we purchased Center Locker Service, which we still own and operate, and bought a house and have made our home here for the past forty years. During those forty years, I served nine years on the Ralls County RII School Board, was a member of Center Lions Club and served as a city councilman for several years before being elected mayor in 2004. I have been involved with the Center Ball Assoc., and have been a strong supporter of 4-H and FFA. I am an active member of Missouri Association of Meat Processors and have served on that board also.
My plans as the future mayor include to restore sound financial footing and to pursue more revenue grants to expand services such as high-speed internet and to bring the sewer system into compliance with DNR. In so doing, I hope to restore your confidence in City Hall. I want nothing but the best for Center, MO and its citizens.
I would appreciate your vote June 2.
Hi, my name is Tom Bramblett and I’m running for Mayor for the City of Center.
I was born in Center, July 17, 1945, and graduated from Mark Twain High School in1963. In 1965 I decided to serve my country. I joined the US Army for 3 years. I served 1 year in Vietnam with the First Air Cav. After coming back from Vietnam, I was stationed at Fort Hamilton, New York, where I escorted the remains of fellow soldiers home to their loved ones. I’m a 100% disabled Vietnam (Agent Orange) veteran.
I served as Alderman for Ward One and then I moved to Ward Two in the early 70’s. I was Fire Chief for several years.
I run a produce stand at our home from May to September. I have time to try to get more business in town. I have been Alderman for Ward Two for the last year. I think it is time for a change.
