Food delivery at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 6 at NECAC Ralls County Service Center 411 Main in New London

It’s officially called the Commodity Supplemental Food Program for Seniors, and is funded by USDA.

A limited number of income-qualifying Ralls County seniors ages 60 and older will receive monthly food boxes. Each box is valued at $50, and will contain meats, cheeses, cereal, canned fruits and vegetables, grain products and dairy items.

Twenty people have already signed up, but there are openings for 12 more.

Some of the items – such as meat, cheese and dairy – are not usually or consistently offered by food pantries.

This supplemental program is in addition to the food pantry NECAC operates in Ralls County for all disadvantaged residents.

THE PROGRAM IS FOR RALLS COUNTY RESIDENTS ONLY.
