Frank Russell Campground Fall Availability Expanded

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) has expanded the camping availability for the Frank Russell Campground to provide additional electric-only campsites for the fall season. To accommodate the increase in fall camping and serve as overflow camping, the Joanna and Clear View Loops will remain open until November 2. A water filling station and a dump station will remain open at the entrance to the campground as long as weather permits. The fill-up station is the only one in this area.
There is one centralized shower/restroom facility in the Frank Russell Campground.
Both the Indian Creek and Ray Behrens Campgrounds will continue with normally scheduled seasonal loop closures due to limited restroom cleaning services, road construction, and other maintenance work. Ray Behrens Cedar Ridge Loop closed September 28, Little Bluestem Loop will close on October 12, and Deer Run Loop will close on November 23. Indian Creek Nighthawk Loop closed September 28, Fox Loop will close on October 5, and Sentry Ridge Loop will close on November 23. These loops will not reopen for seasonal overflow. The Frank Russell Campground expanded season will serve as overflow camping. A water filling station and a dump station will remain open at the entrance to each campground as long as weather permits. The fill-up stations at the entrance are the only fill-up locations.
Visitors may also enjoy the scenic overlooks, Eagle Bluff Trail, and the Northeast Missouri Vietnam Memorial at the M.W. Boudreaux Recreation Area. At this time, the Visitor Center and playground remain closed due to social distancing protocol. The David C. Berti Shooting Range and Frank Russell Archery Park are open year-round. All boat ramps are also open.
All Corps campsites at Mark Twain Lake are reservable. You can make reservations at www.recreation.gov or telephone 877-444-6777.
Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and commitment to maintaining social distancing protocols while enjoying Mark Twain Lake as we work through these unprecedented issues together.
